NBA 2K7 was actually Shaq's second consecutive year on 2K MT PS4 the cover. It was the first time he appeared on the cover in NBA 2K6. Allen Iverson and Shaq were the only two players to have more than one solo cover at the time. The praise was extremely high for the elements such as the music gameplay, presentation, and the soundtrack.

There were some issues with the controls, and it was much like the first game. There was not much effort to improve the experience. Even though it's not significant but the layout of the menus was widely criticised. Some even considered them ugly.

Kobe Bryant, in NBA 2K10, is probably the most famous player to grace the cover of any of these games. It was actually an important addition to the series due to one major reason. It was the very first game which included the MyPlayer mode. It is still a popular choice over an entire decade later. Although the mode was not the perfect choice, it was a welcomed addition to the MyPlayer franchise. Summer League and Doris Burke as a sideline reporter were welcome additions. However, the game was not without its fair share of technical problems, especially upon release.

Prior to when ESPN NBA 2K5 was released and released, the ESPN license was added to this series in a major manner. It was a landmark entry as it was the final NBA game produced by SEGA prior to the time that the company was bought by another company.

Even though the ESPN presentation was definitely the most impressive game, it was later canceled. The game featured modes such as 24/7 and Association but both had mixed receptions. The game was nevertheless a fantastic game, and the price of $20 makes it a fantastic value.
